Eliminate Point-Elasticity Direction Bias on Price Tests
Standard spreadsheet formulas give different elasticity numbers depending on whether you raise or lower price. Our midpoint arc formula calculates symmetric PED across any price bracket.
Simulate arc price elasticity of demand (PED), tiered trade discount volume hurdles, and BOGO bundle net contribution impact 100% locally in your browser. Replace $99/mo pricing apps with a $19 lifetime studio.
Instant 50ms preview directly in your browser. Zero server queues, zero data leaks.

Core capabilities built into ElasticityMargin Studio
Standard spreadsheet formulas give different elasticity numbers depending on whether you raise or lower price. Our midpoint arc formula calculates symmetric PED across any price bracket.
On a 40% gross margin SKU, a 20% discount requires a +100% unit volume surge just to make the same net dollars. Audit every promo before launching.
Calculate single equivalent discount rates, net wholesale invoice prices, and minimum order quantity (MOQ) profit floors without exposing cost sheets.
Simulate +10% price increases vs -15% promo discounts side-by-side to discover whether higher unit margin or higher unit velocity yields more net profit.
Zero configuration, zero cloud server dependencies, instant execution.
Paste your SKU baseline price, promo test price, unit volume before/after, landed COGS, and variable fulfillment fees.
Instantly calculate midpoint price elasticity of demand (PED), elasticity regime (Elastic vs Inelastic), and exact break-even unit lift required.
Compare net contribution profit before and after price changes, identify profit-maximizing price points, and export clean CSV schedules.

Midpoint arc elasticity divides the percentage change in quantity demanded by the percentage change in price using the average of the starting and ending values as the base: ((Q2 - Q1) / ((Q1 + Q2) / 2)) divided by ((P2 - P1) / ((P1 + P2) / 2)). This eliminates directional bias whether you test a price increase or a discount.
Because a discount comes directly out of your unit contribution margin. If your baseline gross margin is 40%, a 20% price cut slices your dollar profit per unit in halfβmeaning you must double unit sales (+100% volume lift) just to earn the same total profit dollars.
When a SKU has inelastic demand (|PED| < 1.0) or when its elasticity magnitude is smaller than the reciprocal of your contribution margin ratio, a 10% to 15% price increase loses fewer unit sales than the extra margin gained per unit, resulting in higher net profit.
Chained trade discounts are applied sequentially to the remaining balance, not added together. A 20/10/5 chain equals 1 - (0.80 * 0.90 * 0.95) = 31.6% net equivalent discount, not 35%. Our calculator computes the exact net invoice price and margin floor.
